Event Details

Cambridge, MA. On Thursday, April 5th, 2012 the 4th annual MIT Business in Gaming Conference (MIT BiG) will take place in the MIT campus. This year’s conference will feature a full day of panel discussions and keynotes with speakers from leading game companies. MIT BiG brings together video game industry professionals, local entrepreneurs and leading Boston area students and MBA candidates to address the challenges and opportunities facing the industry now and into the future. Insightful talks and presentations from panelists and keynote speakers will be featured throughout the day. Opportunities to associate with various industry stakeholders will be ample for all attendees.

Tickets for the event are on sale beginning February 16, 2012. This event is expected to sell out!

"There are many great conferences centered around the gaming industry," remarked co-lead Jorge Desormeaux, "but MIT BiG is the only one that is focused on the business aspects of gaming. The industry is growing fast and facing a great number of challenges. There is a widespread sense that the ground is shifting beneath everyone's feet, and no one is quite sure who will remain standing.

We want to contribute to the gaming industry by creating a venue where this can be discussed, and where business people, students, and faculty can connect. We are excited to bring speakers from AAA game studios, indie studios and publishers, and to be part of the transformation of the industry."

MIT BiG was started in 2009 by a group of MIT Sloan MBA students. The conference expanded to include MBA students from Babson, Suffolk University, and Harvard Business School during 2010, and from Duke in 2011. The conference is organized by MBA students who have a passion for video games and are interested in learning about the business side of the industry.
